Sensing Element and Sensor Signal Conditioner
A sensor or transmitter includes a sensing element and a signal conditioner. Sensing elements such as Wheatstone bridges or hot wire anemometers are used to convert physical pressure such as pressure or air mass flow, respectively, into electrical signals. The sensor signal conditioner, on the other hand, handles the non-ideal characteristics of the output of the sensing element and sends the signal to the controller.
